2015 BC Summer Youth Celebration (SYC)
Dear Pastors and Youth Leaders,
This summer we are hosting our eighteenth annual BC Summer Youth Celebration (BC-SYC) and we would like to invite students who have completed grade 7 through grade 12 to this week of excitement, August 24-28, 2015. This special week’s purpose is to provide a camp where students and leaders experience and learn to; Encounter Jesus-Follow Him-Make Him Known. This purpose is based on Jesus words, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17)
This life changing adventure takes place in a setting of fun and recreation at Gardom Lake Bible Camp in Enderby. Our theme this year is, “New Heart, New Spirit” from Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender responsive heart.”
SYC is for Christian and non-Christian youth. Whether your youth are mature Christians or those just beginning to explore spiritual matters– there will be elements of challenging discipleship along with sensitive teaching of the basics of being a follower of Jesus Christ. Here are some of the powerful components of SYC that we pray God will use to inspire us to know Him:
- Dynamic Bible Teaching presented each day by the camp pastor/speakers
- Vibrant praise and meaningful worship led by enthusiastic musicians who enjoy and invest in teenagers.
- Interactive small groups led by dedicated youth leaders. Students will be able to dig into the God’s Word and apply it to their lives with their peers through interesting and thought provoking activities.
- Adventurous recreational options that include; swimming, canoeing, paddle boats, kayaking, basketball, volley-ball, climbing wall, archery, ropes courses, zip-line and soccer.
- Exciting elective activities related to drama, art, sports, outdoor adventure, missions involvement, and more!
Each youth leader will be responsible for his/her own group, and ensure that the students participate in all the scheduled activities. They will be assigned as a cabin leader for up to eight youth. Leaders ensure that youth are in their cabin on time, attend scheduled events and out of bed in the mornings. If youth are attending from your church, please send a leader (21 years of age or older) with them (at least 1 leader for every 5-6 youth). If you have young adults (age 19-20) who desire to be involved in SYC leadership, please contact Maura (see e-mail below).
Please follow the streamlined Registration Procedure below and mail registration items by July 6, 2015. It is essential to know the number coming so please send in your registration as soon as possible and we anticipate a full camp so we suggest that you send in your registration forms as soon as possible. To sufficiently prepare for each camper, we are unable to receive any registrations postmarked after July 6th. Thank you for understanding.
If you are from Metro Vancouver and would be interested in taking a bus to camp, please contact Alfred Lu (alfredlu@gmail.com). There will be an additional cost for this transportation.

BC-SYC 2015 – Registration Procedure

We are asking each church to register their entire group at one time with one cheque. Each church will collect all deposit money and send one cheque from your church to cover those fees. At a later date (you decide), collect the remaining balances of fees and bring one cheque from your church to SYC to pay for your group at registration.
Step One: At the bottom of Registration Form A, fill in the three blanks; your church name, forms and deposit due date, and balance of fees due date. Then distribute Registration Form A to all interested youth and leaders attending with your church. (Registration forms and deposit must be postmarked by July 7th, please plan your deposit due date accordingly)
Step Two: Collect Form A and deposit fees.
Step Three: Complete Church Group Registration Form B and make a copy for your records.
Mail the following to the address below – postmarked by July 6th:
- all Form A’s
- Form B
- one cheque from your church covering all deposit fees you collected (payable to “WestCoast Baptist Association” and write “SYC” on the memo line)

Step Four: Collect the balance of fees due on the date you set. Bring one cheque from your church to cover all remaining registration fees you collect with you to SYC on August 24 (payable to “WestCoast Baptist Association” and write “SYC” on the memo line).
