CNBC WestCoast is looking for a Regional Ministry Leader

I. Who are we?

The CNBC WestCoast is a family of 80+ churches spread across British Columbia and one church in the Yukon.

II. Mission and Vision

We exist to assist affiliated churches by supporting, encouraging, and equipping their leaders, by providing opportunities for greater Gospel collaboration, and by coming alongside churches in need. We envision a day when all the people of our region will have a God-honouring, Jesus-loving, Spirit controlled church within commutable distance of their homes.

IV. Strategic Principles

  • Prayer: Prayer helps us lean into God and not rest on our own understanding, making sure to create space for God to lead, shape, direct, and empower all that He wishes to do in and through us.
  • Support: Provide times of refreshment, learning, and support networks so that leaders can joyfully give themselves away in their service to God’s people and His kingdom’s work.
  • Train: Training that targets specific needs in our affiliated churches to help them develop and grow into disciple-making, church-planting congregations.
  • Resource: Connect our affiliated churches to partnerships and resources that will fulfill their ministry initiatives.

Regional Ministry Leader Job Description

I. General Position Description

The CNBC WestCoast Regional Ministry Leader (RML) gives leadership to the work of the region and serves as a shepherd to church leaders providing care, coaching, and counsel.

RMLs also work collaboratively with the Canadian National Baptist Convention (CNBC), and other Southern Baptist Convention fraternal entities, for Kingdom purposes. RMLs advocate for their regions, providing a regional voice to national conversations. In addition, RMLs help to shape and champion a national vision to the regions.

II. Specific Responsibilities

  1. Leadership
    1. Connect and network church leaders to one another in beneficial ways.
    2. Lead the re:Focus and re:New Programs.
    3. Work with the CNBC WestCoast Board to plan regional gatherings, trainings, and other regional events.
    4. Be attentive to where new work needs to be established across the region.
    5. Find the resources needed to fund the region’s programs and events.
  2. Pastoral
    1. Pray for church leaders regularly.
    2. Develop a spiritual friendship with leaders that encourages them in their personal walk with God.
    3. Give biblical counsel to church leaders and churches in times of crisis or conflict.
    4. Resource church leaders with information, materials, and opportunities that will strengthen their ability to lead well.
    5. Preach at churches as needed.
    6. Love church leaders by being present with them in times of crisis and celebration, listening and praying with them.
  3. Administrative
    1. Supervise and collaborate with office staff and other self-funded leaders working out of the HUB.
    2. Submit regular updates to the Board and meet with them monthly.
    3. Work with the Board and staff to oversee and manage the annual budget.
  4. Relationships
    1. Build relationships with potential partners and connect them to the right needs.
    2. Lead the advocacy program.
    3. Collaborate with CNBC, the International Mission Board, and the North American Mission Board Canada leaders to prosper kingdom growth in the region.
    4. Meet monthly with other Regional Ministry Leaders.

III. Accountability

    1. The RML will be directly responsible to the CNBC WestCoast Board and will provide regular updates.
    2. The RML will provide quarterly updates to the CNBC RML Team Leader.
    3. The CNBC RML Team Leader, in collaboration with the CNBC WestCoast Board, shall initiate an annual evaluation of the RML.
