As the pastoral leaders of our WBA churches in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island move into the week ahead pray this prayer of Paul would be answered in each life.
“ And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Colossians 1:9-14 (ESV)
We join Zendeh Church in praising the work of God:
“We had a full house party for the new year’s event. We had around 200 guests and many more on our waiting list. Thanks to the The First Baptist Church of Desloge Mission Team, we had a great event. We got a great feedback from our guests. We pray as we show the love of Christ to our community that we would build trust and opportunity to share the Gospel with them.”
Please pray for Conrad Au’s family as they process the news of the passing of one of his closest uncle, the older brother of his non-believing father, in Hong Kong, China today. Please pray for peace for the family as they are still non-believers, and pray for Conrad as he cares for and ministers to his family in the coming days and weeks ahead. Pray as Conrad plans to journey to Hong Kong that the Gospel will be proclaimed.
Pray also for the people of The Common Place that they will continue to seek the Lord during Conrad’s upcoming absence, and continue to pray that workers will be called soon to walk alongside Conrad in their post-Christian community (www.thecommonplace.ca/send).
We continue to pray for Pastor Kong’s continued recovery from a stroke as they move him to Eagle Ridge for rehab and strengthening. Please remember Kong’s wife Teresa, their daughter, and his mother during this time as well. Thank you.

Stories of the activity of God across Canada were shared demonstrating the power of the Gospel to change lives and bring renewal. Pray for the breath of the Spirit to spread this powerful witness nationwide.

Pray the outreach through the Marriage weekend this week will provide opportunities for people to respond to Jesus.
We are praying for two key meetings being conducted this week among leaders of Westcoast Baptist Association. Pray as they meet to seek the direction of the Father to move forward in 2017 with our mission statement: “We are a family of churches developing people in Christ-likeness and launching them into His mission.” Pray the Father will guide each discussion and give clarity for next steps to be taken in leading our churches to bring praise and honor to Jesus.
