Will you partner with our family of churches/church plants in praying for these things the week of August 12, 2018:
We are praying with Thanksgiving for God’s activity through each of the camps and outreach events that have taken place this summer through several of our churches.
We are very thankful for the baptism of a new believer in The Transformation City ministry this past week. We are also very thankful for the reports of the outstanding family camp held by Canvas Church on Vancouver Island.
Pray for the special worship in the park planned for Urban Village Church today, August 12th in the Gaston Park at 4:30pm. We also lift up the Point Church as they will be gathering in the AQ Gardens for their regular worship time at 10:45am on August 12th.
We are praying for the wisdom and guidance of the Spirit of God as we seek the next steps for The River Community ministry in Steveston, BC. We are praying for the Forlow family who have invested a number of years in launching this ministry. They have moved to southern Florida to find a new ministry for their family. We pray for their well-being and health as school begins for the children.
We are praying for transition of Dr. Steve Lee into our region as the Church Planting Catalyst. Pray as he and his wife find new points to engage and discover new friendships and ministry as they base in Langley. Pray for clarity as he seeks to get a grasp of the activity of God in the midst of our churches and church plants in the WestCoast Baptist Association’s region.
We are very thankful for the hard work and preparation of the WestCoast Baptist Association staff who hosted a picnic for all of our churches and church plants in the area on Monday, August 6th. Over 200 people gathered at the Barnet Marine Park enjoying a lunch of grilled hamburgers and an afternoon of fellowship and building new relationships. Pray that we can continue to build on this growing sense of unity when we gather for our annual meeting on Friday evening, November 2nd. We will announce the winner of the annual Volleyball tournament held at the picnic.
We are praying for the Korean Pastors fellowship as they withdraw for their annual family camping trip in the Fraser Valley this coming week. We pray for the refreshment of the Spirit for each pastor and family. We pray for renewed commitments to our Lord’s mission in our region and globally as they seek directions for the year ahead. We pray for joy that leads to shared laughter as their relationships are strengthened and renewed.
We are praying this week for the sports camp of Westlynn Baptist Church as they will host over 100 children. We pray this engaging effort will provide opportunities for multiple gospel conversations between volunteers and campers as well as their families. Pray for the growth of the commitment of each leader to live on mission in their area of influence both during the camp and after. Pray for the salvation of many during these days.
We are praying for the launching of True North Community in Penticton, BC led by Jordan and Betsy Knorr. They will hold their second preview service next Sunday, August 19th, in the Skaha Park at the Gazebo at 3:00pm. Pray for the clarity and gospel focus of the message of this service to engage the hearts and minds of those in the park. Pray also the core team will be strengthened in relationship and commitment to the task of living on mission in Penticton. Pray for the financial partners for this church in the interior of BC.
We are praying for a special gathering on August 19th for the women in ministry of our association. It will be a time of encouragement and fellowship gathered around a lunch. Connect with Janet Campbell for details. Pray there will be new friendships launched among the women attending that will carry many through the days ahead.
We are praying for the upcoming Summer Youth Celebration at Gordom Lake August 27-3. Pray for spiritual and physical strength as leaders and speakers make final preparation over the next two weeks. Pray for friends to invite one more person who might be brought closer to Jesus Christ through this camp. Finally, pray that each participant will experience the presence of the living God as they worship, pray, reflect and play. And having experienced His presence will choose to follow Him for the rest of their lives.
We are praying for the leaders of our various churches and church plants as they seek some time with family to rest over the next three weeks. We pray fathers will take the time to really be “with” their families and enjoy the true blessings of those relationships. We pray the Spirit of God will empower and initiate a deepening relationship in each family during these days. We pray there will be a true time of rest filled with new opportunities for memories to be made in the simple act of being together regardless of the surroundings. We pray for healing of brokenness in each of us.
