Pray with Thanksgiving…
We are celebrating the baptism of four at Urban Village today as well as their first Annual General Meeting on December 6. They will be establishing their first official membership and launching as a registered charity. We are thankful for these signs of growing maturity.
We are celebrating the impact of the Marriage Conference this past weekend as approximately 120 attended at Canvas Church on Vancouver Island and approximately 25 attended at Westlyn Baptist Church. We are thankful for the volunteers who traveled from Louisiana to help with childcare at both sites.
We are celebrating with Origin as they joined 12 other groups on the campus of the University of British Columbia as over 400 gathered for a joint worship service this past week. We are praying for the city-wide united prayer and worship that will be held tonight at the Cariboo Road Christian Fellowship sponsored by MissionFest.
We are celebrating the launch of the new Victoria ministry by Vietnamese Linh an Church with a core group of four families that saw 25 attend their first meeting. We are thanking to the Lord for long-term ministry of Pastor Phoc Phan Tran to the prisons through this church as they have seen 295 people receive Christ over the past 6 years.
We are celebrating the renewed focus on service and mission engagement that is occurring where pain, self-protection and isolation have been ruling in the lives of some of our people in Vancouver.
Pray for the activity of God…
We are praying today for the clear affirmation through the decision by the members of Richmond Chinese Baptist Church as they seek to join hands with Towers Baptist Church in launching a new multiethnic English speaking congregation combining the people and resources they both possess to more effectively reach their city.
We are praying this week for the gathering of pastoral leaders for our churches on the evening of December 1st . We pray this will be a time of encouragement and challenge as we gather for the annual Christmas dinner sponsored by the WestCoast Baptist Association. Pray for open hearts and attitudes that will build relationships that will bring God glory and praise. Pray the fruit of the evening will be a growing joy among our leaders. A similar opportunity will be held on Vancouver Island, December 15th.
We are praying for The Common Place, they are gathering their friends and neighbours on Friday night for their annual Christmas Gathering! Join them in praying as their new believers are inviting their friends to come for a night of relationship building! They have had a great year of bivocational ministry, and look forward to seeing greater things to come! Pray for the salvation of Conrad Au’s father as he attends the church of a friend.
We are praying for workers who are currently in the field seeking to plant new outreach groups and plant churches in our region among the Filipino, Hispanic, Portugese, South Asian People, and Multi-ethnic English speaking. Pray that God will grant them clarity of vision and sensitivity to people in their communities with whom to sow the Gospel. Also pray during this season they will receive the needed resources and guidance from God regarding the development of strategy.
We are praying for wisdom and generosity with resources in determining what might be done among our churches to provide ministry and service to the Syrian refugees who will be coming to our city in early 2016. Pray for The Point as they gather food and supplies to be distributed through their network to the poor. Pray also for the multitude of churches gather boxes for children given globally though Samaritan’s Purse.
Pray these words over our cities…
Sometimes our generosity is cloaked in doing what is right for the sake of our reputation or simply to meet at need of others. Today, we pray the generosity of our people in the region will produce a Thanksgiving to God from those who receive as they see the way our lives have been enriched in every way by the growing relationship with Him.
“You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.”
Acts 9:11 ESV
