Pray with Thanksgiving…

We are very thankful for the 50+ pastoral leaders and their spouses who gathered last Tuesday evening in North Vancouver to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. We are thankful for the positive reports heard from these leaders. We are praying for the December 15th evening on Vancouver Island with the leaders there.

We are thankful for the affirmation seen in a 94% positive vote for the plan from leadership of Richmond Chinese Baptist Church and Towers Baptist Church as they seek to organize in a more effective way to be good stewards of the resources and people of both Churches to reach the lost in Richmond.

We are thankful for the 20 individuals who heard the gospel witness of the Common Place group during an evening of sharing and Christmas celebration.

We are thankful for the registration to two new congregations this week. We celebrate with Church on the Rock as the Albion congregation in Maple Ridge led by Shaun Lynch was registered. We also celebrate with the registration of a Bhutanese Nepali Congregation in Burnaby under the leadership of Kumar Bhujel. This marks the sixth new congregation registered in the WestCoast Baptist Association region this year as well as the restart of Potter’s House in West Kelowna.

We are thankful for the 200 children who received and completed a special craft sharing the message of Jesus Christ from the Grisaffe’s and their friends as they ministered and served during the Christmas on the Peninsula in White Rock. We continue to pray for a community of faith to be developed in that city. We join them in praying for the area churches as they continue to reach out and share the gospel.

Pray for the activity of God…

We are praying this week for our partners and friends in Southern California as they minister to the victims and neighbours who experienced the shooting in San Bernardino. Pray specifically for Pastor Rob Zinn as he has been visible in the community all week and will lead his church on Sunday. Pray for wisdom, insight and clarity as he ministers God’s word and message to the people of that region.

We are praying for the pastor of our partner church in Billings, Montana as his wife passed away and was buried last week. Pray for the comfort of the Spirit and support of his church during these difficult days.

We are praying for the Christmas banquet planned at Towers Baptist Church on Sunday evening. The local secondary school band will be performing and many of the community will join us for this evening of food and reflection on the message of the gospel. Pray for Pastor Garrett Holmes as he shares the message during the program. Pray for the power of God’s word to be evident and pray for the attitudes and actions of God’s people will lead people to be thankful to God.

We are praying for Brian, the son-in-law of Earl Grisaffe’s brother, who is recovering from burns over 90% of his body three weeks ago. Pray for the comfort of the Spirit during the incredibly painful days of treatment and healing.

We are praying for the Manire’s as they finalize the assessment process and begin seeking partners to join them in launching a new church plant in the Abbotsford area. Pray for effective ministry in Russia during their closing days of service there.

We ask for our churches and partners to join in praying on Thursday evenings for the launch of NextGen congregation of The Point led by Sam Woo Kim that is planned to take place in the early days of 2016.

We are praying for the children of each of our pastoral leaders. Pray these children will experience the presence and love of God in a special way this Christmas. This can be one of the most hectic seasons of ministry during the year. Pray for the Fathers to have eyes to see and meet the needs of their children also.

Pray these words over our cities…

Pray for the encouragement of our leaders as they walk with God. Let them walk in the encouragement of these words that there will come a harvest as they sow in tears.

“Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb!

Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!

He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing,

shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalm 126:4-6 ESV

We thank you for praying for the items listed on this pray post whenever you have the opportunity to pray. We ask you to join a nationwide effort among the churches of Canada in praying specifically at 10:02 daily for the Father to cast out workers from each of our churches into the harvest.
