Each Day at 10:02 am/pm each day, we ask you to pray for God to call out workers for the harvest. This week pray that in our churches we would hear a word from God and experience Him – we pray where there is weariness that God would refresh, encourage and renew that they might finish well. Where there is confusion God would meet them and guide them to life in Him. We pray there would a softening of the hearts of your people that there might be hope in every church. Pray these words of scripture over our city:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will….
– Romans 12:1-2
Pray with Thanksgiving…
We are thankful for the three candidate couples completing the final step in the assessment process this week. All three received a recommendation for planting in different parts of Canada. We pray for the next steps of training and equipping for the context and work they will be conducting.
We are celebrating with Church on the Rock with report of a door being opened this week. Note this report: “We have been praying for 4&1/2 years that God would open a door for us to go into the Harris Road Coop and shine the light of Jesus in this dark and closed complex. We have prayer walked around this complex 100’s of times, sent letters to the board, tried to set up meetings, and looked for ways to reach out in this community. All of them were firmly closed doors. In November we helped a family that has been connected with us for a while now move into this complex. Long story short I was invited this past Monday to one of their Board Meetings to share about our Kids Rock Ministry. I received word last night that the board of the Harris Road Coop voted yes for us to begin doing Kids Rock in their community building on a weekly basis beginning immediately, whenever we are ready to start it.
We are thankful for this report from Craig O’Brien (Origin Church): “Yesterday I had a fantastic Gospel Conversation with “B.” Please pray for him as he is seeking Jesus. I’m praying that God will make the grace of the Gospel clear to him. At this point he still thinks its about what he has to do to follow Jesus in order to become a better person. He sort of sees this as a self-improvement plan.”
Pray for the activity of God…
We are praying for the team joining us this week for the Equip Conference. We are praying for the hearts of our worship leaders to be filled with presence and power of God as well as their skills to be developed in order that our worship across the association will be all the God would desire. We are thankful for the volunteers coming and ask the Father bless each meeting and build stronger relationships with our churches.
We are praying for the outreach of The Common Place and specifically for one woman they are seeking to lead from darkness to healing.
We are praying for the mother of Hamish Buntain as she makes the transition to a new place of residence. We are asking for her ministry to continue in the new place.
We continue our prayer for The Point as they seek the funds for the property down payment for their new HUB. We pray God’s desire for this site would be very clear during this process. We pray for the leadership team of The Point as they walk through these days.
We continue to pray for the Aunt of Brad and Rhonda Forlow (River Community Church) who is recovering from a major fall while vacation. She has been flown the Vancouver from the hospital in Alaska and will continue recovery here.
We are praying for the over 40 student volunteers who are coming this summer to learn and serve as they live a life on mission in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island. This week begin praying for the people the students will meet and share their lives with over the summer. Pray for the salvation for many.
We are praying for wisdom and courage to plant the next church in our Region. We are praying for the Planter that God has called as well as the location for the next site.
Join the nation of Canada in praying for our country every day this month!
This week the CBC ran an interesting report on the state of faith and spirituality in BC and Vancouver. We think you will find it helpful as you pray for us. Watch here.
