Pray VancouverEach Day at 10:02 am/pm each day, we ask you to pray for God to call out workers for the harvest. This week allow your daily times of pray to use these words to guide your prayers for the leaders in our region. We ask you to pray for the heart revealed in these words be built by the Spirit in each leaders in order that they might be prepared for the tasks ahead:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever..
– Psalm 23

Pray with Thanksgiving…

We celebrate the new leaders in our association of churches as Pastor Lavrik of Emmanuel Romanian and Pastor Alfred Tsui of Richmond Chinese Baptist Church were introduced in our Gathering last Thursday evening.

We celebrate the Associational Gathering this past week as at least 24 churches sent leaders to participate and hear the activity of God.

We celebrate the activity of God through the obedience of Jacob Han who initiated a new core group to reach the Korean population in Port Coquitlam in October of last year and is already gathering 25 weekly. They have seen two come to Christ already.

Pray for the activity of God…

We are praying for the 16 couples departing this afternoon for three days on Keats Island at Barnabas. Pray for the spiritual encouragement and physical rest these days can bring as we seek to strengthen relationships and invest in the marriages of these key leaders.

We are praying for leaders of five (5) churches who are exploring a growing relationship with our WBA family of churches and for the meetings this week to answer questions. Grant the clarity of a joint vision and a persistent Kingdom minded focus of pushing back darkness in our region.

We are praying for the women gathering a Rivendale retreat centre next weekend. Pray God will use this time to draw these leaders of our associational family to greater unity and strengthen their spiritual lives for the days of ministry ahead.

We are praying for the two potential planters preparing to complete the final stages of assessment in two weeks. Pray for this two day event will provide affirmation of calling as well as steps that will take each planter into a deeper relationship with Christ.

We are praying for our advocates who will be gathering on May 6-7 to evaluate the kingdom minded strategies that will lead to greater impact on lostness through discipleship and service in the communities of our city. Pray also for the financial resources needed to accomplish those strategies.

We are praying specifically for the enlistment of participants for the Equip Worship conference coming at the end of May. We are praying for the enhancement of the worship experience in every church participating. We are praying for key leaders to arise in the midst of this unique opportunity that will be prepared to continue the growth opportunities in this critical area.

Finally Ekklesia Church has a unique relationship in Nepal. As we pray for all people impacted by the terrible earthquake in recent days please pray for the Baptist Global Response on the ground as well as these connections with Ekklesia:

Please pray for our Haley, who had just arrived in Kathmandu 12 hours before the earthquake hit. She has texted us to let us know that she is okay. Just as a reminder, Haley is an 18 year old new believer that Matthew baptized last Easter Sunday and that I disciple on almost a daily basis. Pray that she will be bold in her faith to share the love and hope of Jesus with the people of Nepal and that her faith deepens into the arms of the Father. Please pray for her mother who is not a believer. Pray that we may have opportunity to share the love of Christ with her.

Also, please pray for Jonathan and Carries Spears, and Nathan Carroll. They are the missionaries that Reid and Virginia worked with for 10 weeks. Also, they worked closely with many local pastors: Pradeep (who Haley was trying to meet with yesterday), Sandeep, Santos, Suni, and others. Pray that they have many opportunities to lead people to their True Hope and Salvation during this tragic disaster.

Thank you for praying with us for Haley, the missionaries, and the people of Nepal.
