“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” ACTS 2:42-47
Join us in praying over the activity of God…
We are praying for Kumar Buhjel as he leads the Bhutanese congregation as they worship this week. Pray for him to be encouraged and strengthened to proclaim the gospel and guide his people.
We are continuing to pray this week for the Jeewan Jyoti Satsang and the Punjabi ministry here in Surrey led by Paul Ingold – specifically for a mission team who are here this week from First Baptist Arnold, Missouri. They are coming to mobilize local Punjabi ministries to do block parties and to reach out to people at both Vasaikhi parades, here in Surrey and also in Vancouver. Please pray for protection over them and their time would be fruitful.
We are praying for the experienced Church planter from another part of Canada coming to Vancouver this week to explore God’s activity to determine His call to potentially come and plant in this area. We are praying God will provide insight and wisdom for all those involved.
We are praying for the NextGen Church core group road trip and retreat this weekend. We pray for the fellowship of the group to grow deeper and the individuals to grow closer to the person of Jesus Christ. Pray for the leadership to speak the Word of God clearly into their lives.
We continue to pray for the summer workers that are needed to continue the ministry of New Hope Church to the children and youth in the church as their key leaders for these ministries will be taking a break to give birth to new members of their families. Ask the Father to call out those that could help this summer.
We are praying that God will call out volunteers locally as well as a mission team to help with the summer camp being prepared in Surrey by Gateway Baptist Church on July 18-21. We are asking for teams who can join us in a variety of places on July 1st to increase the witness in reaching people through our different Church plants, specifically the Common Place.
We are praying for God to draw the WBA family of churches together Thursday evening, April 21, for a time of challenge and encouragement. We are grateful for the four new churches that have chosen to affiliate with our WBA family and we will celebrate on Thursday evening. We are praying for the Father to guide our time together as we seek to adjust our lives to His vision.
We are praying for the retreat of at least 20 of our leadership couples next weekend at Barnabas Retreat Center. We are praying for their refreshment an encouragement as well as the building of a deeper fellowship for the group. We are praying for God to use Cam Roxburgh as he breaks the Word during this retreat. Pray we will see a movement of the Spirit during these days.
We are praying for the families of our pastors on a weekly basis. This week we ask you pray specifically for the family of Craig and Ellen Obrien and the family of Garrett and Jessica Holmes. There are seasons in each of our lives when the pressures of life are exaggerated and the need of the family to call out our name before the Father is like a cup of cool water to stay the course. So we ask for you to call these names before the Lord. He knows the need.
We are praying for the financial resources needed to launch a new work among the people of Pakistan in our city. God has called out a planter, Shahid Kamal, now we are seeking the partners who will gather behind him to accomplish this new work.
Please pray with Gratitude…
We are grateful for the 14 churches and two new Associations from Mississippi and California that visited our city last week to explore partnership with our area church plants and churches. We are building a prayer base as well as discovering the people and resources needed to reach our city.
We are grateful for the work of our lead partners who gathered last week to establish better ways to network and introduce new partners to join the Father is reaching new immigrants and planting churches among the second generation. We are also thankful for the contribution of a new computer for one of our leaders by Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, California, and Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison Mississippi, as their pastors generously responded to an immediate need as they visited our city.
We are grateful for the initial training of a core planting prayer team for Towers Baptist Church by Tim Corbin as they make plans to launch a new work in the core of Richmond.
We are grateful for the work of God moving the Burnaby Born Again group to the Promiseland site. Their first gathering saw new people come this Friday evening making up the seven involved in the Bible Study and 5 in the ESL class. We are thankful for the support of Urban Village Church in this new ministry.
We are grateful for the three new leaders who have initiated the process of assessment this week.
We are thankful for the baptism service this Sunday being held at Canvas Church in Victoria where several will be baptized giving witness to the power of God to change lives. We also join Towers Baptist Church in gratitude where 15 people will be affirmed in joining their covenant community.
Set your clock and join our gathering team of prayer warriors to pray for Vancouver and Vancouver Island every day at 10:02 am and pm.
