Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus..” Philippians 4:4-7 NASB

Reflections/Reports of the work of two of our congregations over the past few months:

As we conclude our summer ministry season, we would like to ask you to join us in these Thanksgiving Prayers!

Praise the Lord for Surrey Chinese Baptist Church, whose help in us throwing a block party for our neighbourhood resulted in a feature in the recent edition of the Tri-Cities BC newspaper in our region, sharing the biblical principal of loving our neighbours as a church.

Praise Him for our friends at LifeWay Christian Resources’s P2 Missions for blessing us with young people again this year to serve alongside us for a week in the summer. It continues to be the most fruitful week in our ministry calendar, as we have seen new believers and returning missionaries from this one-week exposure to church planting. We thank teams from St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles and First Baptist Church Joelton, Tennessee for walking with our church plant. We especially want to thank Lauren Hellams, intern at First Joelton, for pouring into our new believers personally and choosing to seek how she can continue to walk with us from afar in the weeks and months ahead.

Praise Him that new and non-believers connected to our church plant joined us at the WestCoast Baptist Association’s Annual Family Picnic. Please also pray that those who yet to believe will further experience His love in His community, while our new believers continue to see that they’re not alone in our city.

Please pray in supplication as we do continue to pray for 2 faithful servants who may begin to join us in the fall and commit to walking with us for a year in ministry.

Finally, please also pray for 2 youth connected to The Common Place who will be attending S.Y.C. Summer Youth Celebration ( We are still praying for funding to cover at least one of their expenses for this life-changing week at the end of August.

To God be the Glory. Thank you for your faithful prayer partnership!

This week Sepideh and I have a flight to overseas to visit my family by this prayer that when my family hears the Gospel again, their hearts become soft and receive Jesus.  Please pray for them.

In July we canceled two of our Sunday church services due to church retreat and the number of travellers from our church including myself, however God’s work didn’t stop. We were ministering to a muslim family that have lived in Canada for almost 20 years. Last month they started visiting us at church. Yesterday I received a text from them that they are sorry for not being able to make it to the church Sunday service and they are happy that finally they found the true friends and the community.  Please Pray that very soon they meet the true God as well.

Our soccer ministry has been fruitful too. Two young adult brothers whom come and play soccer with us have told to their mother (She accepted Christ several months ago) that now they like Christianity. They told their mother that they don’t want to tell people (because of Muslim community’s judgmental reactions). Please pray that they start getting to know Jesus more and love him! and become bold to talk to others about their belief.

The church retreat was very good by the help of the mission team. We rested and relaxed. We had fun and enjoyed the fellowship.  And the most important one our people got challenged by the word of God to make spiritual goals for their lives.  Please pray as they are still working on their spiritual goals, God reveals to them what is his goal for them and that they not quench the spirit.

Thank you for your prayer.   Amin

Pray for the Prayer Network for Vancouver and Vancouver Island

As you join us in praying if there is a need or a praise you would like to share with our network please simple send a brief email to In busiest times of engaging our city with the gospel, there are three ways you can personally be involved and you can involve your church or networks.

  1. Several years ago we began weekly publishing the items we are celebrating as well as the needs of our churches and leaders. We seek to make this available every Sunday morning through our website, Facebook and twitter so it can be shared for the coming week with prayer warriors across the country. It can be seen at .
  1. We began several months ago encouraging individuals and churches to be involved in an effort to stop and pray for Vancouver/Vancouver Island twice daily at 10:02 am/pm. This time was taken from Luke 10:2 to simply ‘Pray earnestly to the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest”. God has been answering this simple prayer offered by those who will discipline themselves to stop and pray.
  1. A growing group of our men are fasting and praying now starting Monday or Tuesday evening after dinner at 6:00PM.  Some of our team will fast until Wednesday at 6:00PM and the rest of us will continue our fast until Thursday at 6:00PM.  We will be praying as follows:
  • Spiritual awakening of our churches, locally and nationally, that are called by His holy name (both in and outside our association)
  • Christian men to have a renewed relationship with Jesusand a passion in sharing their testimonies concerning their experiences and walk with the Lord.
  • Our Canadian leaders in government at all levels, to govern according to Godly principles.
  • Our country that it would return to the Lord and be healed.
  • Gods protection for our churches and church families.
  • Our church leaders (pastors, elders, deacons, lay leaders)
  • Spiritual and numerical growth of our churches and small groups
  • Pray for the Harvest

What would happen if all men called by Christ name committed to this time? What if we all humbled ourselves before our Lord? Would you join us in praying the Psalms and petitioning the Lord from His mighty word? Will you join with us until we hear from the Lord?

Thank you for your steadfastness in fasting and praying!
