When young couples become part of your church you can pray for them and hope that they, with God’s grace, will figure out on their own how to have a godly, nurturing relationship. Or you might intentionally introduce them to an older, godly couple who have been equipped as marriage mentors. Having the right kind of encouragement will certainly help these younger couples have a meaningful relationship and for some it might even save their marriages. So where would you find such help?
If you have a couple (or couples) in your church who have been married for more than 7 years, who are in a stable Christian marriage, and who would like to encourage younger couples in their marriage, then you can have them equipped as marriage mentors. Vancouver Chinese is hosting a half day workshop to help train marriage mentors and I would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Having couples equipped in this way will enable your church to create an environment where marriages thrive, and thriving Christ-centred marriages help build a strong and healthy church that God can use to further His purposes in the world.
The details are below. I encourage you to explore them and consider how this opportunity might help your church.
