Beirut
Some of you have been asking if we have any safe venues for contributions that will assist people who are suffering in Beirut as a consequence of the explosion that occurred there last week. I am pleased to say that we do. Canadian Global Response is a registered charity for disaster relief, community development, and alleviation of poverty connected with our CNBC family of churches. It is largely volunteer based in order to maximize the use of resources for the benefit of the poor and needy of our global community.

I can assure you that any funds your people may donate will be given to trusted partners and not any government or its agencies. These trusted partners are supervised by CGR in their humanitarian ministry not just for stewardship and accountability reasons but to ensure that a spiritual strategy is part of our humanitarian efforts, for as Jesus reminded us, “man shall not live by bread alone.”
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. And thank you for sharing this opportunity with your people. I pray that their willingness to compassionately help alleviate the suffering of others on the other side of the world will open doors for the gospel and be instrumental in helping people trust Jesus. I suspect Jesus will make the appropriate introductions in eternity.
With thanks,
Hamish
